Ask Base, in your own words
Ask Base is the assistant built into Base. Ask it about your customers, bookings and sales, or ask it to make a change. Nothing changes until you say yes.
What you can ask
Changes, with a card first
Ask it to change a setting or a record. It shows a card with what it will change, and you press Yes or No.
Pictures, pages and video
Ask for a picture, an animated page or a short video clip. A card shows the price before anything is made.
Files you attach
Attach a picture, video, PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CSV, JSON or text file and ask about it.
The live web
Ask about news and facts. It can search the web and answer with links to its sources.
Bots that run on their own
Ask for a job such as a weekly report. Ask Base offers to make a bot for it and shows a card first.
How a change works

Say what you want, in your own words, and send.
Check the card
For anything that needs your yes, a card says exactly what will change.
Answer
Press Yes to do it, or No and say what to change instead. A card left too long expires, and nothing is done.
Make it yours
- Give the assistant a name and a tone (Friendly, Professional or Playful). Only you see your choice.
- Choose effort: Light to start, Medium or High for harder work. Higher effort may use more credit, and it asks before moving up.
- Send another message while a reply is running. It waits and runs next, in order.
- Tables show a short preview first. Expand them, copy them or download them as CSV.
Questions
Is Ask Base the same as the AI agent my customers talk to?
No. Ask Base works for you and your team inside Base. AI agents answer your customers on chat channels.
Can it send messages to customers by itself?
Only within limits you set for a bot, and never payments, refunds, deletes, billing or access changes. Everything else waits for your OK.
Which AI model does it use?
It picks the model for you on Auto model, so there is no model to choose.
