How a connector works

1. Add it

   In Settings, open Connectors and press Add. Give it a name and paste the MCP server URL, plus an API key if it needs one.

2. Check each tool

   Each new or changed tool starts off. Read what it does and what it takes, then say whether it only reads or changes something.

3. Set what it may do

   A read can run without asking, ask first or stay off. A change always asks first.

4. Give it to agents and bots

   Tick the connector on an agent or bot.

Limits and records

• Up to 60 calls a minute for the brand, and 30 a minute from one person.
• Recent calls shows the last 50: tool, time, result, whether a person approved it, and what it sent, with secrets hidden.
• Only use connectors from developers you trust. Their tools can change, and Base cannot verify them.
